If I Live: A Book Review

If I Live by Terri Blackstock

This is the third book of a series called "If I Run" based around a woman running from crooked cops who framed her for a friend's murder. I was REALLY excited to finally read how the series would end and what Casey's fate would be.

The characters in this series - Casey and Dylan - are whip smart. They have their baggage, but it's not too far fetched and written very convincingly. I think that's one of the things I like about Terri Blackstock's writings - she's so good at writing real people into her books.

This book picks right back up where the second book ended. Casey had been shot while trying to do something good and was on the run (again) from crooked Detective Keegan. At this point, the private investigator, Dylan was officially believed her story about the police officer and was an ally. Because this is the last book of the series, the author fit a lot of suspense, stand offs, kidnapping and love into it. I was never bored, let's say that! Overall, I think the first book in the series was my favorite, and this last book resolved the series in an enjoyable - and suspense-filled - way!
