More Than Just Making It: A Book Review

Three years ago, my husband and I were able to make out last payment on our debt. 70k+ of student loans, a car and a honeymoon debt all paid in full. We've been able to maintain a debt free life, well, with the exception of our mortgage. While I can't say the tagline of this book "hope for the heart of the financially frustrated" appeals to me because we aren't quite "financially frustrated", I rarely turn down a book about financial tips and tricks.

In this book, Odom talks about how she grew up in the middle class and was thrust into low income living during the economic crisis. At the time, her family was living on her husband's teacher income and were not able to make ends meet. This book doesn't just tell their story, but also will encourage readers to rise above their circumstances, empower them with money-saving tips (YES!!) and reimagine the good life as God designed it outside the myth of the good 'ole American Dream.

I think this book was good! For people who could use encouragement in their pursuit of a debt-free lifestyle and want tips for the journey, this would be a good resource.
