Steal Away Home: A Book Review

Steal Away Home by Matt Carter and Aaron Ivey

First, let me say that this book has a great cover. Very attractive. The book dives into the relationship between Thomas Johnson and Charles Spurgeon. Johnson was an American slave born into captivity. Spurgeon was an Englishman born into relative ease and comfort, but longing for a freedom on his own. They form an unlikely freedom based around their mutual love for the mission of Christ.

I am not a fan of type of genre. I love the premise of the book, as well as the writing style and historical details. However, it was a bit hard for me to get through based on the fact that it wasn't biographical and there were certain artistic licenses made in regard to the character of the men and dialogue. Overall, a good book though!
